Support for commercialization of PIAP’s inventions

Program name: ‘Patent Plus’ – support for patenting inventions

Project implementation timeframe: 01/01/2010 – 31/12/2013

Project purposes: The main purpose of the project is to maintain and encourage inventive activity of the Institute both in terms of practical application of patented solutions in Poland and in other countries and in terms of the number of patent applications. This goal is closely related to modernization of processes of technology transfer from PIAP to the economy by supporting procurement and retention of patent protection for inventions.

The scheduled tasks cover mainly domestic applications. PIAP intends to extend as broad as possible protection over Polish native inventions. 

Improvement of awareness of importance of protection of industrial property among the R&D personnel of the Institute is a detailed purpose and, at the same time, an additional project deliverable. Another expectation is that the personnel of PIAP, authors of patented solutions, will intensify their commercial activity meaning active seeking for business partners interested in implementation of advanced technologies taking advantage of inventions.

Tasks scheduled for the project (2013):

  1. Training in industrial property protection oriented on contamination;
  2. Production and publication of informative and promotional material on intellectual property of the Institute and distribution of the material during fairs and meetings;
  3. Participation in local and international fairs / exhibitions for presentation of inventions;
  4. Meetings (at least 40) to establish bilateral and industrial contacts with industrial partners as prospective clients for patented works owned by PIAP.

In addition, there was a refund of costs incurred in 2010:

  1. Cost of the patent agent
  2. Administrative charges for registration of patent applications (Polish Patent Office)
