Project purposes: The main goal of the project was to give scientific support to work done in Europe on improvement of safety of road transport on secondary roads and for achievement of the accepted goals of the European policy for transport safety in 2010 (so-called White Book on Transport Policy).
Major R&D tasks assigned to PIAP: Formulate basic dependencies of safety functions on secondary roads, develop a GIS-aided decision-making system, demonstrate recommendations for safety improvement on a selected secondary road in Poland.
