RIMA Project

Robotics for Infrastructure Inspection and Maintenance (RIMA) in power engineering, transport and security.

RIMA project aims to create a network of 13 Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH)  which will exchange know-how and best practices with SMEs on robotics for infrastructure inspection and maintenance in power engineering, transport and security.

The project will reinforce the leading position of Europe in robotics for inspection and maintenance by combining technology with market demand and supporting efficient cross-border cooperation. The combination will be provided by education, testing and technology transfer, coaching, training in robotics applications in inspection and maintenance, and identification of methods to optimize processes and communication.

RIMA project consortium includes 16 top European research organisations and 7 organisations representing end users from various industry sectors. Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP) coordinates tasks related to ethical and social issues. PIAP is also responsible for cybersecurity and development of industry standards using open systems.

Project implementation period: 01/01/2019 – 30/06/2023

Project budget: approx. 16 million EUR, including 201, 187.50 EUR for PIAP

Contract number: 824990

Project type: international research project as part of the ‘Horizon 2020’ programme

Coordinator:  Commissariat à l’energie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA) – France
