EDURO Project

The main goal of the ‘EDURO’ project is to improve effectiveness educating school age children (first-graders) on safe behaviours.

The main goal of the project is to improve effectiveness of educating school age children (first-graders) on safe behaviours. Detailed goals include research on the effect of using social robots on effectiveness of education and development of an innovative educational program for teaching safe behaviours. The project includes performance of pilot research at selected elementary schools in Warsaw with participation of a selected social robot. The end result will consist of a new innovative educational program for teaching safe behaviours by elementary schools.

  • Phase 1 (PLN 150,100.00): Review of existing safe behaviour teaching programs in terms of using a robot as an educational tool during classes. Development of a methodology for the study: Selection of study subjects and drafting of a syllabus for classes using the robot.
  • Phase 2 (PLN 143,600.00): Pilot experimental study with participation of elementary school students and the social robot. Publication.
  • Phase 3 (PLN 128,499.00): Analysis of existing safe behaviour teaching programs in terms of using a robot as an educational tool. Publication.

Project implemented as part of long-term program ‘Improvement of work safety and environment’, financed in 2014-2016, in the R&D work area, by the Ministry of Science and Academic Education and by the National R&D Centre.  Program coordinator: Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute
