Areas of activity

Łukasiewicz Research Network – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP provides Polish entities and foreign partners with solutions using the latest technologies in robotics, automation, measurement techniques and 3D printing, as well as space technologies for over 50 years. The institute was established in 1965 and since April 2019 has been a part of ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network.

Mobile robotics

Łukasiewicz Research Network – Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP is a manufacturer of Polish mobile robots for C-IED and reconnaissance applications. We provide comprehensive solutions for the Army, Police, Fire Brigade and other services responsible for security, crisis management and population protection in Poland and abroad. Our robots are distributed to 22 countries worldwide. More information is available at antyterroryzm.com

Automation of production sites

The institute is also involved in the automation and robotisation of production lines and factories. We focus on building industrial applications using robots, providing comprehensive and innovative solutions. We develop and implement new technologies, automation systems, production equipment and special-purpose control and measurement instrumentation for various industries. We are highly experienced in commissioning and upgrading current lines. All robotic workstations – standard as well as research and development – are designed using professional engineering tools. Our activities focus, among others, on such areas as robotised welding stations, palletising and pick & place stations, control and measurement stations, as well as robotised machine operation stations. We also offer training, technological audits and servicing. More information is available at przemysl.piap.pl.

3D printing and space technologies

Łukasiewicz Research Network – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP develops 3D printing solutions for industry and other sectors. We deal with orders at each stage of a product launch – from conceptual modelling, through CAD documentation production, preparation of computer models for printing, to production using advanced manufacturing centres working in 3D printing technologies. We are able to carry out manufacturing not only with the use of incremental production technology, but also with the use of CNC machines. We carry out research in the field of machine parts production with the use of 3D printing and moulds designed for casting and chemically hardened castings. In addition to non-standard orders for industry, we also offer consulting and training in the field of incremental manufacturing, selection of machines and technologies. Moreover, we are involved in projects related to the development of modern space technologies using numerical methods and incremental technologies. We work on the development of space research through the exchange of scientific, engineering and student staff with foreign partners, as well as through the organisation of specialised workshops and conferences.

R&D

We carry out research, research & development as well as design and construction work. Extensive research and technical facilities are grouped in the institute’s specialised laboratories, many of which are unique on a national scale and equipped with the latest generation of equipment. As part of R&D activities, we offer access to special-purpose research teams, laboratory infrastructure and networks of cooperating scientific institutions. We also provide comprehensive advice as part of the research and implementation path development process and project conceptualisation, as well as support in obtaining, contracting and settling public funds.

Technology transfer and publishing

We are active in technology transfer and promotion of robotics. We host the AUTOMATICON International Fair of Automatics and Measurements as well as the AUTOMATION International Scientific and Technical Conference. We also publish PAR and JAMRIS scientific quarterlies, as well as the trade monthly Automatyka and the website AutomatykaOnline.pl. More information is available at automaticon.pl, automation.piap.pl, par.pl, www.jamris.org and automatykaonline.pl.
