Workshops: Developing innovative science outreach to encourage STEM careers and education

Free workshops for teachers and lecturers will be held in the ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute on 29th October 2019. We will present good practices in developing science outreach to encourage STEM careers and education.

A precondition for introducing new production technologies, including robotics, in the industry is the availability of well-educated and qualified personnel. To educate the personnel, certain practices to encourage STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) careers and education in young people must be used. Those will be explained by the ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute experts and invited guests on 29 October 2019 during “Good practices in developing science outreach for secondary school students to encourage STEM careers and education” workshops. We also welcome secondary and vocational school teachers and lecturers.

DISCOVER project

Workshops related with the DISCOVER project developed as part of the Erasmus+ programme (contract no. 2017-1-BG01-KA202-036327). Name of the project is “Developing Innovative Science Outreach for Vocational Education to Encourage STEM Careers and Education”. The project is implemented by an international consortium including ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute.

Workshop programme

We will present the DISCOVER project and discuss good practices in developing science outreach to encourage STEM education. The representatives of the invited companies will present their offer of teaching laboratories equipment for schools and vocational training centres. We will also discuss possibilities to supply automatic and robotic equipment and full range of laboratory equipment to educational institutions. The participants will be able  to see a teaching and training station commissioned in the recent months in one of the national centres.
