A Night at the Institute of Aviation with PIAP SCOUT and PIAP GRYF robots

On 11th October, at the 10th Night at the Institute of Aviation, ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute will present two mobile robots for special applications.

Łukasiewicz Research Network and the Institute of Aviation present the largest in Poland night education event – the 10th Night at the Institute of Aviation. The main topic of this year’s event will be the secrets of space. The event will be held on 11 October 2019 between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, al. Krakowska 110/114, Warsaw.

At the stand no. 68, ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute will present the design of two mobile robots for special applications.

The first robot – PIAP SCOUT – is a light terrain-oriented or special reconnaissance robot for hard-to-reach areas. Its modular design allows it to be used as a mobile platform for the inspection of car chassis or very narrow spaces. As part of the 10th Night at the Institute of Aviation, the participants will attempt to control the PIAP SCOUT robot and clear the obstacles on a special track. More information on the robot are available at: https://www.antyterroryzm.com/portfolio-posts/piap-scout.

Another robot – PIAP GRYF – is a mobile explosive ordnance disposal robot used for terrain-oriented or special reconnaissance in hard-to-reach areas. The wheels can be detached to reduce its size for use in narrow spaces. More information on PIAP GRYF robot are available at: https://www.antyterroryzm.com/portfolio-posts/piap-gryf/.

ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP is the first and the largest Polish manufacturer of the highest quality mobile robots for special applications, including counter-terrorism and explosive ordnance disposal robots. The robots are used in over 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Currently, ŁUKASIEWICZ – PIAP Institute offers nine mobile robots types for:

  • C-IED (counter-improvised explosive device efforts),
  • reconnaissance and remote observation,
  • border and infrastructure protection,
  • search and rescue,
  • CBRN hazard analysis and detection.
