High-temperature technology for processing and disposal of selected electronic and electric waste using a plasma reactor, enabling recovery of precious and rare metals

Project value: PLN 1,700,000

Amount of subsidy: PLN 1,700,000

Project implementation timeframe: 01/10/2010 –  30/09/2013

Project purposes: One of the goals of the project was to develop an innovative plasma technology for processing and disposal of selected electronic and electric waste using a plasma reactor, enabling recovery of precious and rare metals. The other goal consisted of building a demonstrator of the disposal process. This technology will enable processing and disposal of two fastest-growing groups of electric and electronic waste: – Group 3: IT and telecom hardware; – Group 4: Consumer electronics and, partly, with the remaining seven groups containing PCBs with electronic components and subassemblies, as well as other electric and electronic components.
