About the Institute

Quality policy

Our main task is transfer of modern technologies originating both from our own work and from cooperation with local and foreign science and technology centres to consumers on the market. We wish to couple scientific and R&D work with implementations and other commercial activities. Profits gained on commercialization of the results of our works and rendered services are used for further R&D work exceeding actual demands of our clients.

We intend to maintain our position as a leading unit in Poland in the field of automation and industrial measurements, especially in the scope of application and transfer of technologies providing services and products of the highest quality.

We realize the above tasks by means of implemented and constantly perfected quality management system fulfilling the requirements of standards PN-EN ISO 9001:2001, AQAP 2110:2009 and WSK (Internal Inspection System), serving as a tool of planned improvement of the quality of products and services.

History of the company

Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements was established in 1965. From the very beginning, research works over new technologies have been joined with designing of equipment and production lines, which enables direct implementation of research achievements in industry.

Scope of activity

Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP was established in 1965 as a national institute which basic task was preparing and implementing new technologies, automation systems, production plant and specialist measuring equipment in various branches of industry. Forty years of close cooperation with industry have brought a series of new designs and significant implementations. PIAPs works include: National System of Automation and Measurements POLMATIK, automated production and assembly stations for FSM Tychy, automated and robotized technological lines in kinescope factory in Piaseczno. Moreover, PIAP prepared and started up the production of mobile robots supporting antiterrorist missions.

International cooperation

Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP is widely cooperating with industrial and scientific organizations from European Union. This cooperation is focused mainly on the research and development as well as scientific projects co-financed by European Commission with in Framework Programs. PIAP was actively participating in 4th, 5th and 6th Framework Program.

Moreover PIAP is collaborating as well with scientific and industrial organizations from USA This cooperation is concentrating on systems for increase of railway security, road and maritime transportation as well as development of industrial systems for automated production of electronic devices.
